Hyundai Bayon has begun arriving at Indian dealer yards, and the first real-world photographs have surfaced online ahead of its scheduled launch on October 26. The images give a clearer sense of the SUV’s styling than the brand’s official renderings.

Exterior Design

Seen in a bright red finish, the model’s sculpted panels stand out against black cladding and silver-toned bumper inserts, creating a solid SUV silhouette. The colour choice highlights the vehicle’s sharp lines and gives it a more aggressive road presence.

At 4.2 metres long, the Bayon is positioned between the Venue and Creta in Hyundai’s Indian lineup. Its size aims to attract buyers seeking a compact crossover with a slightly larger footprint than the Venue.

The front fascia features slim H-Edge LED daytime running lights that trace the bonnet’s edge, complemented by vertical accents at each end. A black strip links the two sides, adding visual width without cluttering the upper grille area.

Below the strip, lower-mounted headlamps flank a wide grille, while generous black bumper sections and silver inserts lend a rugged feel. Two pronounced bonnet creases further define the front, giving the Bayon a distinct identity among Hyundai’s SUVs.

Side and rear-quarter shots reveal angular wheel arches wrapped in substantial cladding, paired with geometric alloy wheels. Blacked-out pillars contrast with the red body, and raised roof rails reinforce the upright stance typical of crossover designs.

At the rear, a thin black strip runs across the tailgate, anchoring lighting elements at each corner. The spaced BAYON lettering sits below the Hyundai emblem, ensuring clear model identification.

The rear bumper combines a large dark panel with silver-coloured inserts at the corners. A roof spoiler, rear wiper, shark-fin antenna and parking sensors are also visible, contributing to a planted overall appearance.

Interior and Technology

Inside, the cabin adopts a dual-tone scheme, pairing lighter lower sections with a darker dashboard. A digital instrument cluster and central infotainment display dominate the driver’s line of sight, echoing the layout shown in the brand’s official reveal.

Two 12.3-inch screens are housed within a curved panoramic panel, offering a seamless visual experience. Below the infotainment screen, a row of physical shortcut buttons provides quick access to media, navigation, home functions, a hazard switch and rotary knobs.

The climate-control area sits between two vertical AC vents, featuring a large rotary dial at its base. Two USB-C ports and a storage compartment are positioned beneath the panel, while the gear selector confirms the vehicle is equipped with an IVT automatic transmission.

The Bayon incorporates a generative AI voice assistant that blends Perplexity and SoundHound AI technologies. It handles conversational requests in English, while over 500 offline commands support six languages, including Hindi and Hinglish.

Hyundai also equips the model with an NVIDIA-accelerated Connected Car Navigation Cockpit and more than 70 Bluelink features. Over-the-air updates can address up to 19 vehicle controllers, keeping software current without dealer visits.

Powertrain and Pricing

Under the hood sits a four-cylinder 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine delivering 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque. Buyers may select either a six-speed manual gearbox or an IVT automatic transmission.

Bookings have opened with a reservation fee of Rs 11,000. Final pricing and variant-specific equipment lists will be disclosed at launch, shaping the Bayon’s competitive stance between the Venue and Creta.
