MicroVision, Blue-Band Team Up on LiDAR Traffic Solutions

MicroVision and Blue-Band have agreed to work together on LiDAR-based smart infrastructure solutions designed for intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Under this agreement, MicroVision will supply its short- and long-range LiDAR sensors, while Blue-Band contributes its intelligent infrastructure platform. The alliance will prioritize applications in traffic optimization, road safety enhancements, and infrastructure upgrades.
The collaboration will focus on developing intersection intelligence to refine traffic flow by monitoring vehicle, pedestrian, and cyclist movement. This data will adjust signal timing and improve broader traffic coordination. Additionally, the system will identify risks such as roadway obstructions, unusual vehicle movements, and conditions that could pose a potential hazard, enabling faster emergency responses.
Both firms stress that their solution integrates seamlessly with current infrastructure, allowing phased upgrades across transportation networks while helping to manage costs. James Byun, MicroVision’s chief commercial officer, stated the partnership broadens market access and strengthens revenue potential by merging advanced LiDAR with Blue-Band’s expertise in intelligent transportation. Kevin Yorke, founder of Blue-Band, described the alliance as critical for delivering scalable, high-performance solutions that provide customers with greater visibility, actionable intelligence, and better real-time decision-making.
MicroVision designs LiDAR-based perception systems for industrial, security and defence, and automotive applications, whereas Blue-Band specializes in infrastructure technology through capabilities that include technology integration, visualisation, analytics, artificial intelligence, equipment monitoring, and automated response.
